Suite de cinco piezas aptas para ser ejecutadas por orquestas infantiles, juveniles, de aficionados y profesionales.

 Ahí te dejo eso fue especialmente concebida como un aporte a la creación de un repertorio nacional para Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles y está dedicada " a la capacidad creativa y valor de todos los que se arriesgan a inventar y jugar, a la red nacional de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles y a los que creen en ella como instrumento para el ejercicio de nuestros valores creativos y muy especialmente a José Antonio Abreu, fundador de la Orquesta Nacional Juvenil de Venezuela y a la memoria de Evencio Castellanos y la Orquesta Sinfónica Experimental de Venezuela". Recibió el Premio Nacional de Composición Lino Gallardo en 1988. Cada pieza representa un reto musical diferente y también, como sus títulos lo evidencian, una oportunidad para una reflexión filosófica:

1. Más que la suma de sus partes : el todo es más que la suma de las partes, principio fundamental del gestalt y qué mejor que una orquesta para ilustrarlo.
2. Buena pregunta : muchas veces lo importante no es la respuesta sino la pregunta que se hace.Al hacer preguntas siempre se corren riesgos y hay que pensarlas con mucho cuidado.
3. Ni sí, ni no : No sólo hay blanco o negro, sino toda una gama de grises. Podemos resolver muchos problemas con lo que Edward De Bono denominó pensamiento lateral, evitando pensar sólo en categorías absolutas y excluyentes.
4. Tiene su lógica : tenemos que agudizar nuestras capacidades analíticas, pues todo tiene su lógica aunque no siempre resulte evidente.
5. ¿En serio? : la importancia del juego, la sorpresa, el humor y el error.

Ahí te dejo eso (There’s That) (sept. to oct. 1988) Suite of five pieces for youth, amateur or professional orchestra Ahí te dejo (There’s That) was composed specifically as a contribution to the national repertoire for Children and Youth Orchestras and is dedicated to “the creativity and significance of all those who risk inventing and playing, to the Venezuelan National Children and Youth Orchestra System and to those who believe in it as an instrument for the development of our creative values and very specially to José Antonio Abreu, founder of the System and to the memory of Evencio Castellanos and the Experimental Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (a youth orchestra that predates the System and where I had the fortune to be a member as pianist and minor percussionist)". This work was awarded the Lino Gallardo National Composition Prize in Venezuela in 1988. Each piece represents a musical challenge and food for thought around each title:

1. Más que la suma de sus partes (More than the sum of its parts): the whole is more than just the sum of its parts, basic principle of the Gestalt philosophy, and what better than a symphony orchestra to prove it.
2. Buena pregunta (Good question) : usually the question itself is more important than the answer or answers. There’s always an implied risk when you make a question and you have to consider them carefully. But its much better to ask a question than to stay in doubt.
3. Ni sí, ni no (not yes, not no) : It’s not only black and white but a full scale of greys. We can solve many problems with what Edward De Bono called lateral thinking, avoiding thinking only in absolute and exclusive categories. This piece was inspired by his book Po, beyond yes or no although musicaly it’s really fooling around with the rhythm and phonetics present in the title (and that by the way, translates quite well into English).
4. Tiene su lógica (It has its logic): we have to sharpen our analytic abilities as everything has its logic, even though it’s not always obvious.
5. ¿En serio? (Seriously?) : the importance of playfulness, games, surprise, a smile, humor and making mistakes.
